This is a viola de gamba that I started making many years ago . Its a small version of the Esterhazy baryton . The whole uniqueness of the instrument is in strings that run behind the finger board which can be plucked with the thumb from behind .Esterhazy was the patron of Joseph Haydn , when I have finished adjusting the instrument ,I will play a little something for the blog
